Rockley Cup
Wills wins 2010 Rockley Cup:
Greg Wills has achieved something of a rarity winning Bathurst’s most prestigious handicap the Rockley Cup from the limit handicap mark.
With the course the toughest on the Bathurst Calendar the front markers generally get caught very early however Wills put in the race on his life to ride solo for the entire course and record an impressive win in front of the fast finishing Jasmine Lee and Peta Cutler. The 2 girls having ridden through the front markers picking up Rhyle Baker who lead the sprint out but finished 4th in only his fifth race start. Next to finish was the main bunch, with Steve Bennett (3min) winning the sprint for 5th and in doing so recorded fastest time honours, 6th going to Simon Egar infront of Harry Jones, Ryan ODonnell and Scott Allen, with Dennis Martin rounding out the top ten. Next to finish was excellent climber Bruce Goddard in front of Simon Hine, Tony Hogan and NSW Junior Champ Harry Carter.

Jasmine Lee – Peta and I train together, I would of really luved to have won that trophy.
Blair Windsor – disappointing, we (scratch) all worked hard to catch block bunch early but split up on Rockley Mount after the hard start. Got to within 45seconds I reckon, but they where too organised and I blew. Couldn’t of gone any harder.
Peta Cutler – Jazzy and I worked well, disappointing we couldn’t catch the leader
Bruce Goddard – What are the chances of using that course a few more times a year.
Ryan ODonnell – Dennis had a good day today.
Craig Hutton – hard ride to catch the block bunch, just didn’t happen. Happy to get to the finish my first Rockley Race.
Nic North – great race, I attacked people all day.
Luke Cutler – We caught and passed people all day, we dropped Tony Hogan about 5kms into the race, then he jumped pass at the end to beat us.
