Renshaw who trained with Lance Armstrong and Thor Hushovd through the week, isn’t expecting too much in his first 2010 start, simply happy to be back racing after his enforced holiday. The 190km 1.1 Uci event with its rolling hills (including a steeper pinch at Bergenhuizen) is expected to suit the aggressive riders and therefore should not put any stress on the Bathurst sprinter who is expected to keep calm and ride in the peloton in case the event comes down to a sprint.

Meanwhile Bathurst’s other international rider Dean Windsor, had his second race start with UK team Rapha Condor Sharp on the weekend in the English Tour of the Reservoir, coming hot on the heels of his 3rd place in the final stage of the Tour de Taiwan on the 20th March. Sadly Windsor’s first start in England was an uncomfortable day, with very cold conditions and gusty winds buffeting the course around the Derwent Water reservoir, made worst when Windsor broke his seat during the race. Windsor missing the decisive break around the 60km point and consequently missed the major placings in the event which was round 1 of the UK Premier Series. ...More
